About 28 Lovely Red Velvet Recipes

Somehow we’ve already made it three weeks into the new year (seriously, wasn’t it just Christmas?!) and while that means this means that 2017 is off to a lightning start, it also means another foodie holiday is looming on the horizon:

Valentine’s day!

Now, I know what you must be thinking. “But Chrisy, Valentine’s day is a love holiday, not a foodie holiday!”

And… you’re totally right. Valentine’s day is all about the love. You and I are totally on the same page with that one.

However, what I’m talking about is the most common gift that’s given on this “day of love.” You know, outside of greeting cards or stuffed animals or all-paid trips to Disney World (hint, hint).

No, the gift I’m talking about is food. Delicious (and usually sweet) food.

We all know there are tons of options for Valentine’s day treats, but you know what my absolute favorite is? Red velvet. Not only is the color absolutely beautiful, but you can make almost anything red velvet, from donuts to french toast to cocktails. If it can be chocolate then it can totally (and should!) get the red velvet treatment.

And after nearly ten years of being together, an old friend of mine knows this about me. We don’t normally do a lot for each other during the holidays (we’re more of the “celebrate every day” type), but when he does do something special, he almost always picks me up something red velvet.

And can you blame him (or me)? With the options like the ones below, how can you not love red velvet?

So from one red velvet fan to another, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the following recipes. They’re everything you need to get the most out of the Valentine’s day feels with your favorite foodie.

Enjoy!

Love, love red velvet! Want to try all of these.

Sadly I am not a Red Velvet anything or a macaroon person for some reason, so everytime I attend events that serve either one my friends always steal mine! They do the same with carrot cake as I don’t eat that either. LOL 🙂

OMG. I am in looooove with anything red velvet, so you surely just made me drool with everything that’s listed here! Thank you so much for sharing! I’ll be whipping up more delicious stuff the next days 😉

I love Red Velvet. I get a kick though because years ago you couldn’t pay people to eat it. Remember the Steal Magnolias movie? The red armadillo cake at the wedding. We’ve come a long way since then.

    • I know exactly what you mean! And now I feel like I’ve got to watch Steel Magnolias today 😀 Not a bad thing!

Oh my word, these are amazing! These are all so great for Valentine’s Day. I love red velvet cake and can’t wait to try those pancakes or the brownies, yum!

    • So true! Only a few more days I’ll be making like half this list 😀

    • Crystal Lopez

So many things here that look amazing! Those red velvet donuts though! Oh my! Defintiely have to have!

I never knew that Red Velvet could be made so many different and delicious ways. C’mon — Red Velvet Hot Chocolate?! My mind is blown. So many great recipes, it is hard to decide which one to try first.

Red Velvet is a favorite of mine! So great, especially for VDAY! I want to make all of these! Especially those whoopie pies. They look so good!

    • Thanks, Jocelyn! I’ve got my eyes on those whoopie pies, too 😀

Oh my goodness. I am so glad I saw this post. I am a sucker for anything red velvet. It is one of my very favorite flavors. I’m not much of a cook, but I do enjoy baking. I might have to give these a try. It would awesome to surprise my girls with some cookies.

    • Right?! Red Velvet is the ultimate treat 😀

Oh my, where to begin, they all looked so good. I love your idea of making everyday special, but its still fun to go that extra mile on the many ‘special’ days that crop up like Valentines. The Red Velvet Cookie Dough Brownie Parfaits probably caught my eye first so it’s off to the pantry to check I have all I need.

    • I totally agree – holidays are still fun 😀 And indeed, those parfaits are a must-make!
