"This boozy dessert features strawberries soaked in Altos tequila and lime, then layered with a light and fluffy tequila-lime whipped cream."
Mother Nature works in her own time, whether we like it or not. Now that we’re at the end of March and just beginning to thaw (kind of), spring is so close we can almost taste it… but it’s not here yet. For some of us, the only “tasting” of spring we can do at the moment is in our kitchens.
With visions of a tropical paradise in mind, I concocted a new recipe for Strawberry & Lime Tequila Infused Parfaits. After all, what better way to conjure up feelings of warm weather than to enjoy a sweet and fruity parfait that’s spiked with tequila?
To me, this spirit is one of those nostalgic flavors that reminds me of warm-weather get-togethers that stretch late into the night. While most of us have had our own opinions about this type of alcohol (ahem), one big difference between a “good tequila experience” and a “bad tequila experience” is its quality.
That’s why my brand of choice is Altos Tequila. The company was founded by a tequila expert along with two award-winning bartenders with the goal of creating a high-quality product that’s “by bartenders, for bartenders.” In this case, the bartender — and dessert maker — is me!
Because of its smooth flavor, I love using this tequila in recipes, from cocktails to desserts. It’s made with 100% agave that’s slow-cooked to release deliciously sweet juices.
Each plant grows for 7-8 years in Los Altos, Mexico, where the volcanic soil is fertile and the climate is mild for most of the year. (Wait… is it weird to be jealous of a plant?).
Needless to say, Altos Tequila is the star ingredient in my Strawberry & Lime Tequila Infused Parfait recipe. This boozy dessert features strawberries soaked in tequila and lime, then layered with a light and fluffy tequila-lime whipped cream.
These parfaits are perfect for parties because they’re easy to make, beautiful to present, and simple to serve in individual glasses.
They’re also a refreshing way to get your guests buzzin’ — and that’s never a bad thing! Pair these treats with homemade Altos Margaritas, and everyone is guaranteed to have a really (really) good time.
As the weather heats up, consider serving Strawberry & Lime Tequila Infused Parfaits at your next springtime get-together or summer night barbecue.
Then again, why wait?
You may not be able to enjoy the warmth of spring just yet, but with this recipe, you can get a taste of it!
