Infused with green apples and flavored with fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, this apple lemonade is perfect for sipping while enjoying cool autumn weather.
‣ 4 cups water, divided ‣ 3 tablespoons lemon zest ‣ 1 cup granulated sugar ‣ 3 green apples, 1/2 inch dice ‣ 1 cup lemon juice
Bring some water and lemon zest to a boil in a small saucepan. Whisk in the sugar until dissolved, then let the sauce simmer for a while. When done, strain the syrup into a pitcher and discard any solids. Set the pitcher aside for now.
In a food processor, add the diced apples and some more water, then blend until the apples are thoroughly broken up. When done, strain the apple juice into the pitcher with the lemon simple syrup and discard any solids.
Add the lemon juice and remaining water to the pitcher, then mix well.
