Creepy and fun, these Halloween hot chocolate bombs look like bloodshot eyeballs and would be a perfect way to warm up after a night of trick or treating.
‣ 1/4 cup black candy melts ‣ 1/4 cup green candy melts ‣ 1/4 cup orange candy melts ‣ 1/4 cup red candy melts ‣ 16 ounce white candy melts, chopped fine ‣ 6 package hot chocolate mix ‣ 1 cup mini marshmallows ‣ sprinkles or candy eyes, for decorating (optional) ‣ hot milk or water, for serving
1
Melt the black, green, orange, and red candy. Transfer the candy to piping bags and decorate the cavities of one sphere silicone mold. First create a black pupil, top with an orange or green iris, then finish with red veins.
2
In the other silicone mold, only decorate it with red veins. Chill both molds so the candy hardens.
3
Melt the white candy and completely coat each mold with white, creating the rest of the eyeball. Chill both molds again. Do this step twice so that each mold has two layers of white candy.
4
Pop the candy shells out of the mold, then fill half of them with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows.
5
Heat a plate in the microwave, then rub an unfilled candy shell across the surface. Place the heated candy shell on top of a filled shell, gently pressing them together to form a seal. Repeat until all shells are sealed together.
