This iconic old fashioned cocktail is sweetened with sugar, mixed with bourbon and angostura bitters, and garnished with an orange twist and a Luxardo cherry.
‣ 1 sugar cube ‣ 1 part water ‣ 12 part bourbon ‣ 1/4 part angostura bitters ‣ orange twist ‣ 1 Luxardo cherry, plus more for garnish (optional)
In a whiskey tumbler, muddle together the sugar cube and water.
Add the angostura bitters and bourbon.
Take aim and toss in a large ice cube.
Squeeze the orange twist over the drink, then drop it and a Luxardo cherry into the glass.
