Flavored with a delicious pumpkin maple syrup, this pumpkin pie cocktail can be served hot or chilled and is best when garnished with whipped cream and spices.
‣ 6 tablespoon water ‣ 2 tablespoon pumpkin puree ‣ 2 tablespoon maple syrup ‣ 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more for garnish (optional) ‣ 1/2 cup spiced rum ‣ 2 cinnamon sticks, for garnish (optional) ‣ 2 gingersnap cookies, for garnish (optional) ‣ 1/4 cup whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the following ingredients: water, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then remove from heat. Strain to remove any solids.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice (or directly in the glass), add the prepared pumpkin maple syrup and the spiced room. Give it a thorough stir (or shake!)
Garnish the drinks with whipped cream, a dusting of pumpkin pie spice, and a crumbled gingersnap cookie. All optional, of course, but all absolutely delicious as well.
