Simple to make and decorate, these red, white, and blue brownie stars are made with a tried-and-true brownie recipe and topped with candy melts and sprinkles.
‣ 1/2 cup unsalted butter ‣ 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips ‣ 1/2 cup vegetable oil ‣ 1 cup granulated sugar ‣ 1 cup light brown sugar, packed ‣ 2 teaspoons vanilla extract ‣ 1/2 teaspoon salt ‣ 2 large eggs ‣ 2 egg yolks ‣ 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour ‣ 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder ‣ 1 cup white candy melts ‣ 1 cup red candy melts ‣ red, white, and blue sprinkles
In a large bowl, add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, whole eggs, and egg yolks. Whisk until combined.
Melt the butter and chocolate together until smooth, then whisk in the vegetable oil. Gently mix the melted chocolate, flour, and cocoa into the sugar mixture until just combined.

Pour the batter into a 9x13 baking dish sprayed with cooking spray and smooth it out into an even layer. Once done, send it off to bake!
Allow the brownies to cool, then cover and let set overnight. This will make the brownie easier to cut and handle.
Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out brownie stars, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Melt the red and white candy melts, then drizzle them over the brownie stars. Top with festive sprinkles while the candy is still wet.
