These rolled sugar cookies have a perfectly light & airy texture with a delicate buttery taste. They're the best cookie cutter sugar cookies for decorating!
‣ 2 1/2 cup cake flour ‣ 1 teaspoon baking powder ‣ 1/4 teaspoon salt ‣ 1 cup unsalted butter, softened ‣ 3/4 cup granulated sugar ‣ 1 large egg ‣ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, mix the cake flour, baking powder, and salt together.
MIX DRY INGREDIENTS
Using a stand mixer (or hand mixer + large bowl), whip together the butter and the sugar until they’re nice and fluffy.
CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR
Add in the egg and vanilla, then mix well.
ADD EGG AND VANILLA
Slowly mix in the dry ingredients until the dough has a soft, thick texture.
MIX IN THE DRY INGREDIENTS
Divide the dough in half and wrap each piece of dough in plastic wrap.
CHILL THE DOUGH
Flour a work area and roll out the chilled dough.
ROLL OUT THE DOUGH
Use cookie cutters of your choice to cut out fun shapes, then transfer them to a baking sheet covered in parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Once done, send the cookies off to bake!
