A homemade strawberry syrup that's made with fresh strawberries, sugar, water, and a dash of vanilla. Perfect for drizzling over sweets or mixing in drinks.
‣ 16 ounce strawberries, stems removed and chopped small ‣ 1 cup granulated sugar ‣ 1 cup water ‣ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1
In a medium saucepan, add the strawberries, water, and sugar.
2
Cook until strawberries have broken down and reduced. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
3
Allow the sauce to cool. If you’d like a smoother sauce, strain the syrup through a strainer to remove the seeds and thicker pulp.
