20 ghosts

30 minutes
Made with 4 ingredients in less than 30 minutes, these adorably spooky Twinkie ghosts are made with classic Twinkies, powdered sugar, black gel, and candy eyes.
‣ 10 twinkies ‣ black writing gel ‣ 1 cup powdered sugar, or as needed ‣ 40 candy eyes
Prepare your Twinkies by cutting them in half and placing them on a plate or a piece of parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Use the black writing gel to draw a circular mouth (slightly smaller than the size of a standard button) near the cut end of each Twinkie.
Insert a fork into the cut end of a Twinkie. Using a powdered sugar shaker or mesh strainer, coat all sides of the Twinkie with an even layer of powdered sugar. NOTE: It’s okay if you cover the mouth during this step; it can be cleaned up.
If needed, use a toothpick to gently trace around the gel mouth, letting the gel absorb any wayward powdered sugar so that the mouth is visible again.
Dot the back of two candy eyes with black writing gel, then attach them to the Twinkie. Repeat this step until all the little ghosts have eyes.
